Info Big Bear
With approximately 300 days of sunshine, Big Bear Lake is always cooler.  With a lake, 2 ski resorts, a National Forest, hundreds of miles of hiking and biking tails, Big Bear has it all to make your stay a lot of fun and healthy as well.
Big Bear Lake is approximately 7 miles long and about 1 mile wide.  There are about 22 miles of shoreline.  The maximum depth is at the dam and is 72 feet.

This is the mountains and being at over 7,000 feet in elevation, the weather can change quickly and significantly.  Even during the summer, we get nights that can be near freezing.  Always come prepared, and if you are going out into nature go prepared.  Plan your journeys in the mountain, since many places are not marked very well or signs can be missing.  Know where you want to go, let someone know where you are going and when you expect to be back.  Remember the mountains are the home to many animals including, coyotes, bears, deer, mountain lions, bob cats, and rattlesnakes.  These normally do not present a danger to people but be alert.
